FAQ | Frequently Asked Questions

  1. WHEN DO YOU HAVE TO RECOAT? Some ceilings are beyond cleaning, or highly textured and do not clean well. Acoustical Recoat gives the owner an alternative to replacing expensive tiles that can’t be cleaned.
  2. WHAT IS THE CONVENIENCE OF RECOAT? Acoustical Recoat is long lasting, allowing years between treatments. It blends so easily that you can complete a portion one day and seamlessly resume where you left off the next day, with no visible overlap. Additionally, there is a low volume of fallout from overspray. All of these factors contribute to easing business disruptions.
  3. WHY NOT USE STANDARD PAINT? Unlike paint or cleaner, Acoustical Recoat is a scientifically formulated coating that effectively restores acoustical tiles to their original function and beauty. Painting results in tiles becoming adhered to T-bars and often leads to tiles bowing up or warping with changes in temperature or humidity. Dirt on a painted surface will bleed through and cause the paint to yellow. Not only is the odor of paint objectionable, but paint is also more likely to damage the acoustical properties of tiles. Painted ceilings often cannot be cleaned.
  4. WHY NOT JUST REPLACE THEM? Replacement costs will be greater when considering the price of tiles and including disposal (landfill) costs. Compared to replacement, recoating will be a substantial budget-stretching decision! Replacing tiles will not eliminate the problem; discolored grids and T-bars still need to be addressed. Vents, speakers, and other non-vital ceiling fixtures can be coated for a uniform appearance.
